Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we now have some exciting information about the new Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One. The film just made the cover of the popular magazine and features Theory of Everything actress Felicity Jones and Y Tu Mamá También star Diego Luna. From what we can gather from the cover, we see our heroes on a beach with AT-ACTs, TIE Strikers, and the menacing Death Star in the background. We also get a glimpse of an Imperial droid, played by Alan Tudyk, who is said to be part of our heroes’ team.

Now for the good stuff. As reported by EW on their cover story, we finally get full confirmation that Darth Vader will be making an appearance in the film. While he might not be the main villain, the Sith Lord will surely be in the background scheming of ways to screw the rebellion. It’s also revealed that our main protagonist Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is an outlaw who has had a run-in with both the Rebellion and the Empire. Her character development story is that she must atone for her past mistakes by helping the good guys win. There’s also conflict with her scientist father, played by Mads Mikkelsen, because he is wanted by both the Empire and the Alliance. Entertainment Weekly also reports on Vader’s first day on the set, so picking up the mag will give you a better scoop on what the iconic villain will be cooking up.

Rougue One: A Star Wars Story, directed by Gareth Edwards, is scheduled to release on December 16, 2016.
