Mark Parker's Take on the Kobe XI Is a Shoutout to Kobe's Killer Nickname
An ode to the Black Mamba.
Nike Basketball’s “Muse Pack” is the culmination of a lengthy relationship between Kobe Bryant and the Swoosh’s Mount Rushmore of design and innovation. This time around, the third and final installment of the series takes some design cues from Nike’s own Mark Parker with some inspiration from the Black Mamba snake seen in the form of reptilian scales on the heel. With the previous releases focusing on inspiration from Michael Jordan (done by Tinker Hatfield) and the idea of pushing the levels of innovation via Eric Avar, the third edition highlights Bryant’s close bond with those behind the scenes at Nike along with his hands-on involvement with the creation of his signature line.
The Nike Kobe XI Parker Muse will officially release on May 26 for $200 USD in limited quantities via Nike SNKRS, nike.com and select retailers.
