Under Armour Creates Sustainable Concept Boot for Earth Day
Cutbacks in waste but not in performance.

Today (or yesterday in some regions) is Earth Day, and in celebration of our planet, Under Armour‘s innovation lab has drummed up a concept design for a soccer boot. The design is meant to allow for a 70% construction from sustainable materials and techniques, which includes vegetable tanning for its full-grain leather upper, renewable bio-based outsole, bamboo composite heel counter and forefoot slate, and recyclable yarn laces. Performance is still key when it comes to Under Armour, so the boot promises no cutbacks in that. The sleek, minimalistic Earth Day concept boot has no set confirmation for release, but they are currently being tested by Real Salt Lake defender Chris Wingert.
