LA's Car Enthusiasts Bid Farewell to Iconic Bridge Before Its Demolition in Short Film
A motoring landmark passes into the annals of local history.
Having linked two disparate sides of Los Angeles since its construction in 1932, the 6th Street Bridge has become one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, lending its likeness to countless scores of films, TV shows and music videos. However, it has since passed into the annals of history, sadly due to structural deficiencies caused by its concrete properties that have stumped all preservation efforts in years past. Just before the bridge’s demolition on February 5, prolific Porsche collector and local celebrity Magnus Walker organised a last send-off for the beloved bridge, inviting all of the city’s motoring enthusiasts to come and celebrate. eGarage was there to record the event, narrated by Walker’s fond recollections of fast drives across the LA River.
