Spam — a solid block of mystery meat that has become as much a cultural icon as much as it is a supermarket staple — has become the subject of a very unlikely collaboration with West Coast streetwear boutique HUF. In reinterpreting the American classic, HUF have taken Spam’s instantly recognizable bloated wordmark and printed it onto a range of military-inspired garments, alluding to the foodstuff’s integral role in nourishing American, British and Russian soldiers during World War II, and the canned meat’s subsequent ubiquity assimilation into many of the soldiers’ homeland cuisines. The capsule collection itself consists of a jacket, mesh football jersey, 3/4-sleeve raglan tee, hat and socks. Check out the tongue-in-cheek lookbook above and shop the collection online here.
