Saint Laurent Is Mailing Fashion Critics Their Personalized Chairs From Paris Fashion Week
But are the keepsakes a gesture of good faith or foreshadowing?

Saint Laurent’s most recent Paris Fashion Week presentation was such an intimate affair that each chair came with a metal plaque engraved with the names of individual guests. Many fashion critics were so taken aback by the wedding-planner-esque attention to detail that they took to Twitter to express both gratitude and befuddlement:
My nameplate, on my chair at @YSL. That is a show first for me. #PFW pic.twitter.com/0X5ZCCoZbq

My @YSL chair. I don’t think I get to take it with me. pic.twitter.com/lgKVFNRrJH

Now there are reports that, contrary to Madame Givhan’s tweet, the hallowed French fashion house has been mailing out the personalized chairs for the guests to presumably cherish as souvenirs of the occasion. Here’s Wall Street Journal fashion critic Madame Christina Binkley reacting to the shipping crate that arrived on her doorstop:
Imagine my surprise today when my @YSL seat arrived from Paris! (Thanks, Hedi, but ethics require me to return it.) pic.twitter.com/yAz5oxForn

Talk about a gesture. It remains to be seen, however, if this keepsake is foreshadowing for Hedi Slimane’s departure or not.
