The 2016 Ford Shelby GT-H Celebrates 50 Years of the "Rent-A-Racer" Program
Ford, Shelby and Hertz pay homage to the 1966 GT350-H.

2016 marks the 50-year anniversary of Hertz’s “Rent-A-Racer” program (which was thankfully resurrected back in 2013) and, to celebrate, the rental car giant is linking up with Ford and Shelby for a nod to the program’s first-ever offering: 1,001 units of the 1966 Ford Shelby GT350-H. Starting as the 2016 Ford Mustang GT, the new 2016 Ford Shelby GT-H transforms the car with the likes of a 5.0-liter V8 engine, new exhaust, an automatic transmission and the Ford Racing Handling Pack. As for the exterior, 19-inch wheels have been coupled with a specially designed body kit that includes the likes of a vented hood, carbon fiber front splitter and matching rear spoiler. Finally, Shelby GT-H badges appear throughout while a black body and Le Mans Gold racing stripes echo the look of the 1966 original.
140 units of the vehicle will be available exclusively through the Hertz Adrenaline Collection at select airports in the United States beginning Memorial Day weekend.
