Jonah Hill & Miles Teller Run Some Guns in 'War Dogs'
“We drive through all triangles… Including your mom’s.”
The Hangover director Todd Phillips — who also helmed the second and third movies of the trilogy — is coming back to the big screen for the first time since 2013 with War Dogs. Based on a true story and Guy Lawson’s Rolling Stone article “Arms and the Dudes” in particular, War Dogs follows two friends in their early twenties (hilariously played by Jonah Hill and Miles Teller) who go from living in Miami Beach to exploiting the Iraq War via a little-known government initiative that ultimately wins them a U.S. military contract. After starting small, the two ultimately land a $300 million USD deal to arm the Afghan military — a deal that involves some very shady players, one of which (perhaps not so oddly) turns out to be the American government.
Produced by and also starring Bradley Cooper with a score from the renowned Cliff Martinez (Traffic, Drive), War Dogs is set to hit theaters August 19.
