'Hap & Leonard' New Original Series Is 'Pulp Fiction' Meets 'True Detective'
Small town crime with a ton of ridiculous adventures.
SundanceTV is set to premiere its latest original series Hap & Leonard starring James Purefoy (John Carter), Michael Kenneth Williams (The Wire) and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men). Utilizing a “pulp”-style narrative where stories involve convoluted tales of adventure, crime, violence and romance, two friends Hap and Leonard (Purefoy and Williams respectively) encounter trouble in the little town of LaBorde, East Texas as they chase a lead about a buried million-dollar loot. Along their journey, the duo encounter competition towards the cash in the form of Hap’s ex-wife (Hendricks), a group of revolutionaries, and a “psycho” pair of diehards hell bent on causing chaos. Operated by AMC Networks — the parent company for hits Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead — be sure to check out the premiere of Hap & Leonard on Wednesday March 2 at 10 p.m. EST on SundanceTV.
