Showtime Teases Cameron Crowe & J.J. Abrams' 'Roadies'
“I think the general public has no idea what roadies do.”
“I think the general public has no idea what roadies do. Bless em’ all. I just play the songs. They make the show happen.”
This Tom Petty quote is the premise behind Showtime’s upcoming series from Cameron Crowe & J.J. Abrams. Hot on the heels of Abrams’ Star Wars-themed music and the James Franco-starring 11.22.63 for Hulu, the aptly named Roadies offers up an inside look at what goes on behind the scenes of a tour production and stars the likes of Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, and Imogen Poots alongside Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, Colson Baker and Ron White.
Look for the ten-episode project — complete with a pilot written and directed by Crowe himself — to premiere on Showtime June 26.
