Nike Is Dropping a Poor Man's "USA" Flyknit Racer
As close to 2012’s Olympics-inspired look as you can get.

Before the silhouette received a more general release, the Nike Flyknit Racer made its debut back in 2012 as part of an HTM trio from Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker — the first-ever Flyknit release. Now that “USA” design — which had previously debuted at the USA Track & Field trials that January before hitting the feet of Nike’s signature athletes at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London — is back (sort of) as Nike channels the look for a new “Blue Glow” release. Offering a slightly different pattern across its knit upper, 2016’s rendition of the release keeps the blue and black combination intact, not to mention the “Volt”-colored Flywire. Outside of the reworked knit, the biggest change here is the lack of “USA” embroidery along the tongue — it’s instead been replaced here with the shoe’s usual branding badge.
Retailing for $150 USD, the “Blue Glow” Racer is set to hit NSW spots February 12.
