MR PORTER Subtly Tweaks the Common Projects Original Achilles
To celebrate the online retailer’s fifth birthday.

Common Projects collaborations are often waited on with bated breath, but an air of apprehension almost always surrounds them: making substantial changes to minimal sneakers—especially the cherished Original Achilles—could be seen as blasphemous and might be met with widespread derision by fans and critics alike. Luckily, MR PORTER has dodged any such criticism and pulled off a tasteful release with the luxury footwear brand in honor of the retailer’s fifth anniversary.
The only visible tweaks made to the Achilles silhouette are a black insole and the serial number has been embossed in black instead of the brand’s usual gold. The subtlety is in line with CP’s aesthetic while also creating a distinguishing mark that caters toward the menswear-savvy.
The shoes are available now on—you guessed it!—MR PORTER for $435 USD.
