Nico Rosberg Retires 5 Days After Winning the Formula 1 Title
A surprising turn of events.

It was only five days ago that 31-year-old German Nico Rosberg won his first F1 World Title at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after placing second to Lewis Hamilton. Achieving what his father had done 34 years prior, the German has decided to call it quits, retiring from Formula 1 with immediate effect. Rosberg raced in 206 grands prix, winning 23 and finishing on the podium 57 times. Rosberg states:
“I have climbed my mountain, I am on the peak, so this feels right. For 25 years in racing, it has been my dream, my ‘one thing’, to become Formula 1 world champion. Through the hard work, the pain, the sacrifices, this has been my target. And now I’ve made it.”
