Netflix Drops Trailer for Surprise New Original Series, 'The OA'
Netflix’s latest original series will premiere later this week.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Netflix has dropped a trailer for a brand new original series that’s set for a premiere later this week. Billed as “a powerful, mind-bending tale about identity, human connection and the borders between life and death,” The OA is the latest project from Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the visionary duo behind the likes of Sound of My Voice and The East. According to Netflix’s own synopsis:
The show begins with a missing blind girl in her twenties, Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling), who comes home to the community she grew up in with her sight restored. Some hail her a miracle, others a dangerous mystery, but Prairie won’t talk about her seven years missing with the FBI or her parents.
Produced in partnership with both Anonymous Content and Plan B Entertainment, The OA‘s eight chapters will all hit Netflix this Friday, December 16.
