Gucci's Big Cats Take Over Rome for Its 2017 Spring/Summer Campaign
Welcome to the wild world of modern renaissance.
For Gucci’s latest Spring/Summer 2017 campaign, the historic city of Rome is transformed into a fanciful playground for mischievous felines of all walks of life. Shot by the renowned Glen Luchford, the photo series parades models and big cats through classically Italian settings such as a hotel, a café, and the famous Trevi Fountain for a whimsical exhibition of the ’70s disco-inspired Spring/Summer 2017 collection pieces by Alessandro Michele.
As we see models don some of our favorite pieces, such as the Bleached Punk Denim Jeans and the Gucci Printed T-shirt, lions, tigers and leopards nonchalantly roam the romantic city and munch on Gucci bags. Elsewhere, a giraffe is fed grapes as the Gucci kids dine alfresco and then head to a diner for some post-nightclub indulgence. “Inspired by generations of intellectuals and artists that considered Rome to be their home town, some by birth, others through cultural adoption, this campaign is an homage to personalities like Cy Twombly, Mario Schifano and Laura Betti,” reads the campaign description.
