These Hand-Painted Kimonos Made From Recycled Levi's Are as Unique as They Come

In the rare occasion that a kimono made of recycled Levi’s jeans is not special enough, you can double up on the one-of-a-kind element with a hand painted design on the back of the jacket. Recently, Californian “Mad Scientist of Vintage Clothing,” Dr. Romanelli, teamed up with fellow West Coast-based artist/tattoo artist Matt “Manface” McCormick for a series of one-off hand painted Dr. Romanelli kimonos made from vintage Levi’s. Romanelli is famous for building new narratives for clothes by dissecting and stitching together separate garments into one unique piece of sartorial art. LA-based multimedia artist Manface is known for his signature perfectly imperfect sketched out black-and-grey tattoo work and art that captures the Californian spirit of the Wild West. Together, they’ve fabricated special one-off kimono jackets that will be an impressive addition to any art/streetwear/vintage-buff’s collection.
