Lil Wayne recently sat down with The New York Times to discuss his new life behind bars memoir, Gone ’Til November. During the interview, the Young Money rapper mentioned the completion of his next album Tha Carter V but also touched on the new generation of hip-hop talent. When asked about some of rap’s most notable up-and-comers such as Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black and 21 Savage, Wayne replied, “I swear to God I didn’t know you were saying people’s names just now, so that should probably answer that question. I just do my own thing.” For what it’s worth, the New Orleans rapper also said he didn’t know who Donald Trump was either when asked about his thoughts on the presidential race.
