J.Crew's Upcoming New Balance 998 Is the Color of Money
Greenbacks for your feet.

J.Crew and New Balance are taking the 998 back to the 1860s, recalling the American paper currency of the era with a “Greenback” edition of the retro runner. An homage to the legal tender — which wasn’t back by gold or silver — issued by the United States during the Civil War, the kicks, as you might expect, come decked out in green with gold and white accents throughout. As far as construction goes, J.Crew’s latest piece of collaborative footwear comes dressed in premium suede with both smooth and perforated paneling coupled with a dash of leather for good measure.
Expect these to be available exclusively from J.Crew locations in limited quantities come October 15.
