Bad Brains Legend Paul "H.R." Hudson Is Getting His Own Biography Film
Musicians from Guns N’ Roses, The Roots and more contributed.
With Bad Brains up for an inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a new biography for group vocalist Paul “H.R.” Hudson has been announced. The legendary frontman has guided the monumental punk and hardcore act through classic records such as their self-titled debut album and the reggae-influenced I Against I, and received a great deal of press and attention for his off-the-stage persona. Authored by writers Howie Abrams and James Lathos, Finding Joseph I: An Oral History of H.R. from Bad Brains is built around exclusive interviews from H.R. himself, other members of Bad Brains, fellow punk icon Ian MacKaye, musicians from The Roots and Deftones, Guns N’ Roses’s Duff McKagan, and others. Accompanying the biography will be a visual companion and documentary titled Finding Joseph I, which you can learn about in the trailer above. Finding Joseph I: An Oral History of H.R. will arrive on January 17 via Lesser Gods. For more on the biography’s companion piece, check out its official Kickstarter.
