PRAËM Transforms a Honda VTR1000 Into Its First Custom Creation
The French customizers present the SP3.
For its very first project, French customizers PRAËM — helmed by an an ex-BMW Motorrad designer and former aerospace technician in the French army — have taken on the Honda VTR1000 to create the high-powered SP3. Built outside of Paris over the course of the past year and originally unveiled at the Paris Motor Show back in December, the SP3 — so named because of its VTR1000 RC51 SP2 base — pushes PRAËM’s philosophy that performance should never be compromised. As such, the bike employs everything from a magnesium and aluminum engine (capable of 165 hp), a race-worthy Öhlins suspension, and Brembo brakes with Sicom carbon-ceramic discs to ultra-lightweight Rotobox carbon fiber wheels, an enlarged fuel tank cutout to prevent the rear cylinder from overheating (a problem for the stock SP2), a combination of brushed aluminium and stainless steel paneling, and much more. The design even features sculptural details inspired by Brooklyn-based Korean artist Seung Mo Park.
