Modernity and history clash as Matthew Miller reclaims “Nouveau Riche” for his Fall/Winter 2016 collection. Unveiled at London Collections Men, the range emphasizes cultural capital throughout, coupling prints by Caravaggio — long utilized by Virgil Abloh to great affect — and uncut velvet with utilitarian takes on biker jackets, bombers and more. Joining the fray are Riina O-crafted leather gloves and even Bass Weejuns for an added juxtaposition.
Expect the range to be available at the usual stockists and online later this year.
