Facebook Launches Sports Stadium
The social media giant looks to take on the likes of Twitter and ESPN.

In an attempt to compete with the likes of Twitter and ESPN, Facebook is launching a new sports-centric endeavor. Simply dubbed “Sports Stadium,” the undertaking will offer a dedicated place for fans to experience sports in real-time along with their friends and other Facebook users across the globe. Essentially an alternative to sports apps and live-tweeting, Sports Stadium will offer dedicated hubs for pretty much any event you can think of while showcasing all content to the related game in question — chronologically and in real time.
Facebook has already rolled out the feature for this weekend’s NFL conference championship games and will soon offer Sports Stadium for basketball, soccer and more. Currently limited to iOS, the feature will make its way to additional platforms in the weeks ahead.
