Dahler Pumps 450 HP Into This Nimble Roadster
A BMW tuner lends its hand to a relatively unknown sports car.

With years of expertise in customizing BMWs, Swiss automotive tuners Dahler have turned their sights to the relatively obscure Roding Roadster R1. Sporting a carbon chassis, the two-seater, mid-engine track car weighs less than 950 kg, which means that the BMW N54 straight six-cylinder engine that Dahler has tuned to 450 horsepower translates to an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 3 kg/hp. This makes the roadster capable of a top speed of 310 km/h, and 620 Nm of torque. Also available in a lower tuning of 408 hp and 540 Nm of torque with a top speed of 300 km/h, Dahler has not released pricing details for the Roadster R1, but suffice to say, if you have to ask then you probably can’t afford it.
