Apple Introduces the Music Memos App to Capture Your Song Ideas

In addition to a significant update to iOS’s GarageBand app, Apple has introduced a brand new mobile app for musicians: Music Memos. Basically a music-centric take on Voice Memos, the new app offers a simple, clean way to keep track of your song ideas whenever inspiration strikes. The app can even tune your instrument and detect both the chords and tempo you’re playing, adding notations and even allowing users to break up their recording by measure. Perhaps best of all, a simplistic backing rhythm section can be added in a breeze and all work can be bounced to GarageBand or Logic Pro — not to mention Apple Music Connect.
