Leica Officially Unveils Its X-U Typ 113
Both waterproof and shockproof.

After leaking last November, Leica has officially taken the wraps off of its rugged X-U Typ 113. The latest expansion of the Leica X family, the X-U is an expedition camera built to offer exceptional image quality under any weather conditions. As such, the X-U is perfect for extreme weather and underwater photography alike and boasts dust-proof and shockproof construction with a design that’s waterproof up to depths of 15 meters. Coated in anti-slip rubber for a secure grip and easy handling, the German-made camera packs a 16.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor along with a 35mm equivalent Summilux 23mm f/1.7 ASPH lens and 3.0” 920k-dot LCD monitor — not to mention built-in flash, a manual focus ring, and full HD 1080p video recording at 30 fps.
Retailing for $2,950 USD, the X-U Typ 113 can be pre-ordered now via the Leica Store Miami.
