While the Deadmau5 is renowned for his ability to create electronic music, the Toronto producer demonstrated that his talent reaches far beyond the genre alone. In a new track titled “Are You Not Afraid Blah,” mau5 produces an instrumental reminiscent of the hip-hop sound of the early ’90s. Featured on the vocals is Manchester-based hip-hop artist Shotty Horroh, whose old-school rhyming style pairs particularly well with the beat. As a bonus, Deadmau5 continues to throw shade at Jack Ü by uploading a response track to their Justin Bieber-collaborative song “Where Are Ü Now,” appropriately titled “Where I’m At.” It features a re-made version of the drop, satirically paired some bad recorder playing.
