Harry Shearer Is Returning to 'The Simpsons'
The likes of Mr. Burns, Smithers and Ned Flanders are back thanks to a $300,000 USD per episode payday.

After it was initially reported back in May that Harry Shearer — the voice of characters like Mr. Burns, Smithers and Ned Flanders — planned to walk away from The Simpsons, the actor is now set to return to the franchise. FOX recently renewed the show for a 27th and 28th season (with a network option for two additional seasons), ultimately granting Shearer’s wishes for a raise and signing the actor and the rest of the core cast — Dan Castellaneta, Yeardley Smith, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright and Hank Azaria — to contracts that see them each raking in $300,000 USD per episode. Appropriately enough, season 27 of the show is set to premiere September 27.
