Harry Shearer, the talented voice behind C. Montgomery Burns, Ned Flanders, and many others on The Simpsons is set to leave the long-running animated comedy. As the 26th season of The Simpsons comes to an end, contract negotiations for the upcoming 27th and 28th season have been underway with Shearer reportedly spearheading the charge for more raises. Although financial reasons may have played a part in Shearer’s resignation, the voice actor discloses that the dispute also included other factors, such as availability for other projects. Whatever the reason may be, there is no doubt that The Simpsons will miss its most versatile voice actor in Harry Shearer. Anticipate the season finale of The Simpsons on May 17 with a cameo appearance from Adult Swim’s Rick & Morty.
