Lest we forget: in terms of business, there’s probably no greater way to kickstart a brand than with AGENDA. In the streetwear industry, the trade show offers unparalleled access to international accounts from around the world, offering both established and burgeoning labels access to a vast network of opportunity. Said network also happens to be one of the most inviting and creative communities out there, which keeps a steady stream of people coming year after year. With that, AGENDA landed in Long Beach last week to kick off the summer circuit.
Entering into the vast sea of brands at the Long Beach Convention Center, you’ll find a slew of diverse brand personalities creating one of the most fun work environments in the business – “work” being used loosely here. As Long Beach is also at the nucleus of the skate industry, AGENDA Long Beach was wrought with nods to shred culture. This ranged from Nutella waffles courtesy of none other than Vans (served up by the Steve Van Doren) and a full-fledged skate contest by Transworld to the faint hint of vaporized nature lingering in the air. Elsewhere, brands offered up free coffee to fuel meetings, and ICNY’s own Mike Cherman making custom hats for visitors.
