Essentials: Michael Uzowuru

The latest individual to be featured in our series of Essentials is Michael Uzowuru, SoCal-based music producer, artist and blogger. Born in 1991, the talented creative has already amassed a respectable list of collaborators — notably XXL Freshman 2015 member Vince Staples. The two are close friends and have worked with each other throughout their respective careers as emerging artists. Together, they released a mixtape titled Winter in Prague, which has recieved largely positive feedback amongst their contemporaries. For his Essentials, Uzowuru narrows his selection to ten bare necessities, which span from utilitarian to sentimental objects. Used mainly for musical purposes, a White Sonos Play 1, Traktor Kontrol S4, and two hard drvies, as well as a MacBook Pro and MacBook Air display the importance of electronics in the musician’s life. Elsewhere, his closest companion — a one-year-old Siberian husky — sits calmly near dog treats, and finally, a Moleskine journal and a Jansport backpack are used to assist him in his daily routines.
