adidas and Raf Simons reveal the latest installment of their anticipated collaboration series.
Raf Simons‘ longstanding relationship with adidas continues, returning to our pages with a selection of instant classics for 2016. It seems that Simons hasn’t quite fallen out of love with the Stan Smith silhouette, managing to reiterate the silhouette in a bevy of creative ways. Aside from traditional colorways such as classic white, the traditionally un-branded Stan Smith has been reworked with sidestripe-style straps in a brand new silhouette, marking a modern evolution from the Velcro straps of the 1980s. Leather is also addressed on the Stan Smith, with Simons using various aging techniques on premium cuts to offer a dark, gothic look.
Elsewhere, the Ozweego 2, which has quirkily found a new home in a kind of post-runway street circle, makes futuristic assertions on trail silhouettes and is offered in perhaps its most wearable colorway options to date. The collection is rounded out by the Response Trail 2, which has been updated in two colorways and detailed with TPU heel counters.
