San Lorenzo North House by de Blacam and Meagher Architects

The truest architectural manifestation of the Southern European la belle vie is possibly the San Lorenzo North House in Quinta do Lago, Portugal by de Blacam and Meagher Architects. Set amongst a grove of idyllic pine trees, the whitewashed residence’s exterior is characterized by a grand double-height portico with soaring columns, with a view over the swimming pool and al fresco lounge area. The structure itself is arranged in a series of stepped-up volumes, with the kitchen being the lowest in height and the double-height living room being the most airy, with the master bedroom on the second level.
