San Francisco-based watch company MINUS-8 launches a bold, professional timepiece with its new Layer series, which includes four sleek colorways, but the two favorites are the Black-Red and Grey. Designed by ASTRO Studios, the same geniuses behind the Nike Fuelband and Xbox 360, the Layer watch is made of multiple layers of PVD-coated stainless steel and is powered by a Japanese automatic movement. It features an NFC-enabled proprietary silicon band, and a display that includes a three-hand timing system and a date window with a sapphire crystal face. It’s set within a water-resistant case constructed of stacked PVD-coated stainless steel discs, with a clear backside that exposes the automatic movement inside. The Black-Red colorway is a metallic black watch with minimal red accents found on the numerals and arms, while the Grey version is a polished dark grey iteration with a black face. You can purchase the MINUS-8 Layer watch online for $448 USD.
