On Kanye West’s 2013 release Yeezus, the closing track “Bound 2” incorporated a sample by the Ponderosa Twins Plus One, titled “Bound.” Rick Spicer, the lead singer of the band whose voice is distinctly heard throughout the song, sued West claiming the sample was used without consent. Spicer claimed that, despite the song’s success, had not been fairly compensated. Two years later, the court case between the two has been settled, with paperwork filed earlier this month to discontinue the suit. The agreement has not been disclosed, but fortunately the two can continue on with their respective careers. Listen to the two songs in the videos below.
