Japanese multi-brand store BILLY’S has released its latest collaboration with Vans offering an iteration of a timeless silhouette to present the V36OG “STYLE 36 TOKYO.” Stylistically rendered to resemble that of the original Vans Style 36 model, which was amongst the first in a long line of skate sneakers to utilize Vans’ infamous checkerboard print along its outsole and side paneling. The toe box has been designed to come up shorter than that of an original Old Skool model, but still retains the recognizable side stripe that has become an iconic component to Vans over the years. The independent concept store has released their rendition of the Vans Style 36 in two variations — both bearing a checkerboard design along the outer edge of the vulcanized waffle sole, one is available to purchase with patterned side paneling and the other as a completely black canvas upper. The V36OG “STYLE 36 TOKYO” can now be purchased directly from BILLY’S.
