If you hadn’t already known, Samo Sound Boy is an electronic producer and DJ hailing from New York City, and is one half of musical duo DJ Dodger Stadium with co-producer/DJ Jerome LOL. As the owner of his label Body High, Samo — born Sam Griesemer — is an enthusiast of music and isn’t shy to show that in the Music Essentials he shares with us. In terms of production tools, Sam is a fiend for high-grade, classic gear…and a budget price, having in his possession gems such as the Roland Juno 106 and the TR-909, purchased on Craigslist. Other hardware of choice includes an SP-404 and an Eventide Space Reverb. He shares with us three of his favorite albums: Jackie Mitto’s Macka Fat LP, Prince’s Purple Rain, and Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska. On top of being a music enthusiast, he is an owner of a few rare music-related collectables, and here you will find an exclusive, limited-edition Michael Jackson HBO hat. Today is also an exciting day for the producer — after years of releasing EPs, Samo drops his debut solo album Begging Please. Download it here, and cop the Body High gear you see above at his merch store.
