Tish Hyman, hailing from the Bronx, is a singer/songwriter who has firmly positioned herself on the music map. Starting out in rap battles, the young artist then moved into songwriting, and penned alongside the likes of Kanye West and Alicia Keys. Now moving firmly in the realms of tastemaker talent, Hyman has released “Subway Art”, a ballad-esque track that has accrued nods from big names including Ty Dolla $ign and Fabolous. With comparisons being made to a young Lauren Hill, it’s apparent that Tish is set for higher climbs; yet, there is a unique tone to her voice – one which surpasses her current fledgling status as a performer. The accompanying visual to “Subway Art” is just that, both artistic and filled with brilliantly-mundane scenes of the subway. The vocalist told Fader:
“‘Subway Art’ is about the heart of the city. It’s about life underground. When I talk to strangers on my rides, most of their stories involve hardship and struggle. Real life… I wanted to make a record that represents this.”
Tish’s debut album is due this Spring and will be titled Dedicated To.
