SBTRKT - Renegade

Nearly six months after the 21 track, studio album, Wonder Where We Land, SBTRKT is calling for and maintaining our attention this week. The fourth release on his SoundCloud in five days, Renegade is two and half minutes of fleeting synths fit for the most diabolical bad guy’s theme song in that video game you spent the better part of your youth buried in. Further, Renegade’s production is distinctly different than SBTRKT’s other three releases this week, nO less, Roulette and FLAReTWO. With the versatility among these tracks, one has to wonder, is it part of a complete project we’re getting piece by piece or is he pulling a Drake and giving us tracks too good not to release but essentially won’t be included in an upcoming album? Hopefully, time will tell. In the meantime, let’s hope for a fifth track.
