Previously running under the DJ moniker Flat White, Virgil Abloh has done well to establish himself as not merely a fashion designer, but also a tasteful music selector. Here we find the Chicago native teaming up with Brodinski’s “right hand man,” Guillaume Berg, on a new project called Paris, IL. According to the outfit’s SoundCloud, the project was born out of a desire to bring underground club culture to the public. The first mixtape is characterized by basic, pulsing snares, grainy synths and murky basslines – sounding like the kind of mix you might encounter behind an unmarked alleyway door. Enjoy the mixtape above and be sure to leave thoughts in the comments section.
