Method Man Shares More Thoughts on 'Once Upon A Time In Shaolin,' Calls Out Cilvaringz and Hip-Hop Publications, and More

After Wu-Tang Clan‘s revealed that the $5 million album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin would not get a public release for 88 years, controversy has not stopped stirring. Subsequent to sharing his thoughts to hip-hop magazine XXL, Method Man further clarifies with HuffPost Live in a new interview. In the conversation, he claims to have been “misinformed” by the reporter’s question, leading him to say what he did. He said, “The information that she gave me was ‘no one will be able to hear this album for 88 years.’ I was like, ‘Really? ‘Cause I had no idea.’” On top of hip-hop media outlets — which he expressed to be very frustrated with — Meth directed some of the blame of misunderstanding to RZA and Cilvaringz, both who had reported release plans without first consulting the group. He speaks on his intolerance of the “B-level Wu guy”: “”Can’t stand Cilvaringz, by the way…Yes, I’m discrediting Cilvaringz.” Because of this incident, as well as others from the past, Meth claims to never want to do an interview with hip-hop-centric publications ever again.
