Although all three silhouettes were touted for their styles at their respective releases, the KD 7, Kobe X and LeBron 12 are still all about performance. The three silhouettes are the main focus of the 2015 Elite series release from Nike Basketball, with the brand zeroing in on lightness, cushioning and refined shapes. Accordingly, the KD 7 Elite editions are done with a newly perforated Hyperposite upper, which allows increased breathability and lightness. The Kobe X Elite is the first Flyknit basketball shoe constructed with recycled polyester yarn, and combines Free, Flyknit and Zoom Air technologies into one (exceedingly comfortable) package. Elsewhere, the LeBron 12 Elite has been improved with new vertical wings for foot lockdown and stability.
The drops are split into three colorway stories: “Team,” “Elevate” and “Rose Gold” – the “Team” series represents each player’s home team colors; the “Elevate” series is a metaphorical nod to the sky-high ascent of its players; elsewhere, the “Rose Gold” aims to symbolize the journey to championship glory. Beginning with the “Team” collection on April 18, look for the corresponding “Elevate” and “Rose Gold” collections to drop at Nike retailers and online May 15 and June 5 respectively.
