Now two months into 2015, we are really starting to see how big of a year it is for music; this week alone we’ve witnessed a great deal of new material from some big names. Kanye West started the week strong with the release of his adidas Yeezy Boosts (and today, the entire line) paired with some GRAMMY performances and controversies. On top of his week-long buzz, Yeezy released a preview of his Vic Mensa- and Sia-featured “Wolves.” Less than midway through the week, Kendrick Lamar offered a politically-conscious track titled “The Blacker the Berry,” which was not only relevant in wake of current events but also regarded with high acclaim by fans and critics alike. Two days ago, A$AP Rocky released the highly-anticipated visual to the “Pretty Flacko” follow up “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2,” which not only commemorated the late A$AP Yams but also included a snippet to an upcoming track. To top everything off Drake seized some shine when he dropped his surprise full-length project If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, which features PartyNextDoor, Travi$ Scott and Lil’ Wayne. So there you have it; Yeezy, K.Dot, Flacko and Drizzy — four heavyweights in the game putting in work. Winter’s almost over…what season is it now?
