Nike Basketball Unveils Its 2015 Christmas Collection
A very Swoosh Christmas.

The holiday season is in full swing and the NBA season has been displaying some tough competition as of late. Thus, adidas isn’t the only one unveiling new kicks as Nike has revealed its upcoming Christmas Collection for 2015. Inspired by fire and ice, it gives a nod to the cold weather and heated competition between all teams in the league. The Swoosh basketball frontrunners’ signature shoes will be the canvas of design for this year’s collection as Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durnat, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James evenly split the fire and ice theme.
The Kobe X Elite features five golden rings on its heel — to pay homage to Kobe Bryant’s decorated career — along with multicolor Flyknit along the toe. The Nike KD 8 hosts a white upper on its lateral side that’s complemented by a medial side that displays red and black mixed graphics. It also sits on a crackled midsole pattern reminiscent of coal while the new Kyrie 2 model takes inspiration from the abominable snowman with a zigzag pattern on its strap to mimic the beast’s teeth. The Kyrie 2 also rest comfortably on top of an icy outsole. Finally, the LeBron 13 gains its design scheme from the harsh winter weather in the Midwest and is covered in different shades of icy blue that appear on the lace look and Hyperposite sections. An ice-inspired “13” is added to its heel as a finishing touch.
It will be a very Merry Christmas as the 2015 Nike Basketball Christmas Collection will release on December 26 on Nike’s website and at select Nike retailers.
