Memorieslab Presents "BlackOut" Short Film by Ellen von Unwerth (NSFW)
A stunning cinematic piece exploring themes of loss, sanity and revival.
As a continuation of esteemed fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth’s “BlackOut” series, Hong Kong-based experimental photo imprint Memorieslab has unveiled a daring short film to complement her photo collection of the same name. Shot entirely in black and white, the setting is once again a post-apocalyptic environment that feeds the tense atmosphere prevalent throughout the footage. Exploring themes of loss, sanity and revival, the cinematic piece is a visually stunning experience that embraces surrealist concepts. The viewer plays witness to a mesmerizing flash of imagery as the film interprets the beautifully catastrophic experience of being on the verge of losing control. The “BlackOut” exhibition will show at the 10 Corso Como Shanghai from now until January 3, and is set to take place in Hong Kong in early March. You can purchase both limited and signed edition artworks online now at M Gallery. The full film can be viewed above.
