Nike Unveils the Tiempo Legend 6
Nike introduces its latest premium leather football boot.

For more than two decades, Nike’s Tiempo has been synonymous with premium leather football boots and the same goes for the latest entry into the series: the Tiempo Legend 6. Building upon the Tiempo legacy with innovative craftsmanship for a dominant touch, the new design replaces the boot’s usual quilted leather toe box with a new cushioned internal cage. Providing the same touch attributes as quilting, the unique addition holds its shape and grooves the leather without the need for the extensive stitching typically associated with the old quilted construction. Said Nike Football Designer Vianney de Montgolfier of the change:
Tiempo players start the attack. We prioritize the touch and precision they depend on. With Tiempo Legend 6, we challenged ourselves to work with legendary materials in a new way. With this new construction, Tiempo Legend 6 delivers the feel of quilting, but without compromising the leather. The foam backer has been vacuum pressed to the leather to ensure a soft, seamless construction. By eliminating quilting, we reduce the possibility of mud or water seeping in through the quilt lines, as that can harden the leather.
Another major change for the new Tiempo is a modernized tongue. Retaining the traditional silhouette of the original, the new tongue now sees an affixed one-piece solution that’s integrated with the laces while an internal mid-foot cage, molded external heel counter and microfiber sock liner help keep the foot in place. The sock liner even features traction on the underside that aligns with silicon pods on the base of the boot itself — a part of the boot’s innovative plate-to-sockliner, sockliner-to-sock traction system. Finally, the medial side of the boot his been raised slightly so as to align with the anatomy of the ankle.
Complete with Nike’s proprietary All Conditions Control (ACC), the Tiempo Legend 6 will hit the Nike Football App November 29 before dropping at retailers worldwide December 1.
