M.I.A. "Borders" Video Features a Pyramid of Refugees
It’s so politically-charged that she had to rock a “Fly Pirates” parody shirt.
Last week, M.I.A. released a politically-charged single titled “Borders” and today she has unveiled the music video to the song. The visual is just as, if not more, socio-politically intense — featuring refugees crossing the border to gain a better “life,” and also forming themselves into an epic pyramid-ark-type structure that the songstress stands atop of. In one scene, M.I.A. had to show us how serious she was about her political standpoint that she had to rock a “Fly Pirates/Fly Emirates” parody shirt. Watch the video above.
