The World's Only Jetpack Takes Its First Flight in New York
This is not a hoax.
In what can only be described as a surreal glimpse into the future, JetPack Aviation has recently released a video of the world’s first jetpack taking its maiden flight around the Statue of Liberty in New York. With the concept having been prevalent in spy movies for decades, it is difficult to believe that the apparatus actually exists today. Describing the technology on its website, JetPack states: ”We believe a JetPack should be just that — a jet turbine powered backpack that is capable of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), is extremely light and small and can easily be carried around by the pilot. It should be powerful enough to lift the pilot quickly to thousands of feet above the ground but small enough to fit into the trunk of a car.” Check out the entire video above.
