Kendrick Lamar Calls 'TPAB' "Therapy" During Inspirational Speech
“Some sh*t that y’all can feel whether you insecure, vulnerable, mad, happy, angry, sad. You pop this motherf*cking tape in, and you love and you live this sh*t.”
Even those a cursory understanding of Kendrick Lamar know that he has made inspiration and positive messages a focal point of his music. So, this next footage makes sense. During a recent stop for his ongoing Kunta’s Groove Sessions tour, Kendrick decided to serve up a moving, inspirational talk to his audience. Calling the creation of To Pimp a Butterfly “therapy” and saying that “this sh*t belongs you and only you,” Kendrick spoke at-length about the messages behind his music and his recent album. He also delivered this particularily-powerful statement:
“Some sh*t that y’all can feel whether you insecure, vulnerable, mad, happy, angry, sad. You pop this motherf*cking tape in, and you love and you live this sh*t.”
