Fashion’s historical trends are well-trodden territory, with many of us able to visualize specific outfits corresponding to each decade of the last century with ease. Food history, on the other hand, is a much less obvious field of study, but nonetheless interesting. The above video’s recreations of some popular dishes of each decade start with roasted beef and franconia potatoes in 1915, before progressing through the decades towards increasingly processed foods such as spam, TV dinners, and pre-made mac and cheese, before ending in 2015’s current food craze over super health foods.
