Instagram Introduces Boomerang
“It’s not a photo. It’s not a gif. It’s a Boomerang.”
After introducing Hyperlapse last year, Instagram is rolling out yet another standalone app: Boomerang. Essentially a video app that allows users to share GIF-like creations, Boomerang takes a burst of photos and then stitches them together into a high-quality mini video — one that plays both forward and backwards. Boomerang even automatically saves the videos to your camera roll so that you can share them directly on Instagram.
Boomerang is available now for both iOS and Android.
